Career Openings

Tree Foreman

 

The Tree Foreman is responsible for supervising assigned crew members in the field and will perform tree work with safety and quality being top priorities. This position is expected to partner and communicate directly with the Operations Manager as necessary to ensure crew performance and overall department success.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                         

  • Expected to perform all required ground, climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignments, as directed by the Operations Manager.
  • Communicate production goals (and other items of interest) with crew members and manager.
  • Participate in all job site safety briefings, utilize appropriate protective equipment, and have an understanding of all aspects of tree groundman positions.
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction on assigned projects.
  • Responsible for the daily planning of assigned work crew and equipment preparation.
  • Responsible for the assigned daily work crew and completing projects in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner in a way that does not sacrifice quality and exceeds customer expectations.
  • Supervise site safety and quality to ensure job ANSI 300 standards are met and all safety procedures are followed – take responsibility for the safety of yourself, your crew, and the public.
  • Train and coach crew members on project tasks or skill development as needed.
  • Fills snow removal position during snow season and perform all associated duties.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years of climbing experience (with MRS or SRS systems).
  • 2-4 years of pruning experience required.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean record. CDL is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Customer oriented with a positive, team player attitude.
  • Report to work on time each day, strive to improve you job and safety skills, and motivate your crew to get jobs done quickly and have great attention to quality.
  • ISA Certified Arborist a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Perform removal / trim production by climbing trees, operating bucket trick, and utilizing other means to complete the work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the position is regularly exposed to outdoor environmental conditions including extreme hot and cold conditions.
  • Heavy lifting, bending and crawling may be required.
  • Due to seasonal nature of work, some peak load situations may arise.
  • Employee may be required to walk for long stretches of time.
  • Employee should be able to lift 75 pounds and dig when necessary.

Grounds Crew Member

 

The Grounds Crew Member is responsible for assisting the Tree Crew Foreman and/or Climber in completing work orders in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner in a way that does not sacrifice quality and exceeds customer expectations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                                  

  • Supports climbers by preparing trucks, collecting equipment and departing the shop within 15 minutes of arrival. Meets with Foreman to understand equipment needed for daily work.
  • Performs and correctly documents daily truck inspection checks.
  • Assures that vehicles and equipment are fueled, cleaned and fully readied for service in preparation for the next day.
  • Sets up safety barriers, warning signs, flags, and markers at jobs to protect employees and public.
  • Removes branches, cleans up and disposes of debris.
  • Performs stump grinding and field mowing.
  • Operates equipment such as gasoline and hydraulic tools and machinery, power saws, and sprayers.
  • Uses hand tools such as axes, saws, and pruners.
  • Flexes work schedule as business demands.
  • Follows all safety and housekeeping protocols.
  • Fills snow removal position during snow season and performs all associated duties.
  • Reports to work on time each day, identifies and suggests job improvements, and strives for quality.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver license with clean record. Chauffeur license is preferred, CDL a plus.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the position is regularly exposed to outdoor environmental conditions including extreme hot and cold conditions.
  • Heavy lifting, bending and crawling may be required.
  • Employee will be required to walk for long stretches of time.
  • Employee should be able to lift 50 pounds and dig when necessary.

Tree Trimmer

 

The Trimmer is responsible for assisting the Tree Crew Foreman and/or Climber in completing work orders in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner in a way that does not sacrifice quality and exceeds customer expectations.

  • Report to work on time each day, strive to improve you job and safety skills, and motivate your crew to get jobs done quickly and have great attention to quality.
